After facing loss and betrayal, Savi began to question his purpose in life. His spiritual journey began as a small child who wanted to get to know Christ and took him through a wilderness of loss and struggle, darkness and light, miracles and despair. Through this sometimes bewildering earthly journey, spiritual clarity began to emerge.

This is a book that reveals the depths of compassion, the dark night of the soul, and a fight between good and evil. What began as a religious quest took a far more spiritual turn, with the writer showing the interconnected nature of all human beings, earth and God.

The writing in this book is humble and very approachable, with the author acknowledging up front that some of his experiences appear to deny scientific rationale, and yet, miracles have happened. This is an exceptionally well-written story about finding meaning in pain, forgiveness for suffering, and surrendering to a will far greater than our own. Reading it, I felt as though I was listening to a friend share a journey that, at times, felt unbelievable and yet had created the most profound shifts in consciousness.

This is a beautiful and very valuable reflection on divine love and compassion, as it is expressed through human interactions. It’s also the story of a boy, and later a man, driven to despair, who is able to view the world through the lens of compassion. Despite facing immense pain and uncertainty, the author is able to arise with compassion rather than resentment, explaining that when life brought him to his knees, it also brought him healing.

There is wisdom in these pages, and although the writer declares at the very beginning that he is mad and that there is no proof of much of what he says, proof seeps through each page of this book, turning pain into awareness of the needs of others and hurt into forgiveness. These actions in themselves show the miracle of healing, but, after losing everything, the author believes that he has gained much, for he now knows who he is and has moved beyond the limits of his past.

For every person who has experienced pain, betrayal, or suffering, this book, like a balm, offers hope of healing through connection with the divine. Though the years have been dark, and although a journey towards faith has been rocky and filled with dark caves of despair, this is the story of choice and an exploration of how, as human beings, we have the ability to connect, treasure one another, and truly look within in order to offer service to the world.

This is a book that draws on spiritual guidance and belief, and in many ways the story doesn’t build new blocks of insight. Rather, it helps to solidify the insights we shape about our own lives. Truth, after all, is held within.
